Griffin’s work constructs abstracted figures and scenarios connected to the artist’s own synaesthetic associations between sound, color, and emotion. Working in oil paint and visualizing the compositions sculpturally, the subjects tumble, entangle, and flop into being, evoking a mysterious sentience. Within barren and unforgiving landscapes, these forms emerge, coexist, and transform with dynamic and immediate urgency.
